Your career

Where it can take you

Millsike runs on far more than officer roles. Administration, security, intelligence, risk management, behaviour analysis, teaching, vocational instruction, offender management and family work are all part of the same team. Officers who want to move into one of those areas start with the advantage of already knowing the establishment.

Your experience can open up opportunities to progress or move into areas such as:

  • Senior Officer and operational leadership – taking on greater responsibility for people, safety and day-to-day operations.
  • Security and Intelligence – identifying risks, gathering intelligence and helping keep the prison safe.
  • Offender Management – supporting individuals through their sentence, rehabilitation and preparation for release.
  • Education and Vocational Training – helping people develop practical skills, qualifications and routes into employment.
  • Behaviour and Interventions – working with specialist teams to understand behaviour and support positive change.
  • Family and Resettlement Work – strengthening family relationships and helping people prepare for life after prison.
  • Risk, Compliance and Administration – using your operational knowledge in specialist and support roles across the establishment.

Start as an Officer. Build your experience. Find the path that suits you.
